A Thousand Generations

The Rock of Central Florida   -

“And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from this time forth and forevermore.” Isaiah 59:21

It is important, and I believe commanded, to sit at our tables with our seed, the generations, and speak of His faithfulness and never-ending goodness. That it is necessary and mandated to walk in the path of righteousness and tell our children and our children’s children of the Father’s character. His love, His forgiveness, and grace, and even His correction, protection, and covering. Let’s speak of what He is saying now, to you and to me, and let’s talk about what He has done for generations before us. Let’s tell them how He saved us, and how He set us free in body, soul, and spirit. Let’s declare the promises He’s kept and the ones that are still on the way.

Let’s both demonstrate to our seed how we walk in His way, andthe why. We can (and should) talk about our personal relationship with the Father with the next generation and that we have a responsibility. Let’s tell them to whom much is given, much is required. Impart that we step over easy, and that “we can do all things through Christ.” Share with them how He wants to commune and talk, He wants to hear from us- and not only when we need something or have had an off day. Our Creator wants to show us again how faithful He is to keep His promises…. and that when we seek Him, we always find Him.

May we be faithful in word and in deed. If you aren’t, you can begin today. His promises are not just for us in this day, but for generation after generation after generation.

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,Deuteronomy 7:9
