You’re Wonderfully Weird
Consider this. In a world that often emphasizes conformity, it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others. We see someone else’s success, talents, and gifts and wonder if we measure up. But God’s Word reminds us that each of us is uniquely designed with specific gifts for a unique purpose.
You are wonderfully weird, and that it’s important you lean into that aspect of how you were created. Specifically the portion of the definition that means unusual.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (MSG) says, “God’s various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God Himself is behind it all.”
So what are your various gifts that God handed out to you? What various expressions of Kingdom power and action are you personally responsible for? The various expressions that are carried out, when we are centered in Christ, and hear His voice, all originate in His Spirit.
We are all different– not by accident– but by design. Our unique gifts are intentionally given by God, and they are meant to be used in a way that only we can fulfill.
When we compare ourselves to others, we risk losing sight of our own purpose. Trying to mimic someone else’s gifts not only diminishes our own but also leaves our unique contributions undone. It’s like a piece of a puzzle trying to fit where it doesn’t belong; the picture remains incomplete.
Reflect on this: God has equipped you with specific gifts for a reason. Your talents, passions, and abilities (especially if they seem rare, unique, and unprecedented in the Kingdom) are tailored to the work He has prepared for you.
