Degrees of Transformation
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
We are in the days of graduation! During the month of May, and into June, people all over the country are graduating. High school, college, tech schools, and even VPK, kindergarten, or maybe from grade school to middle, or middle to high school. These are all worthy of celebrating, and each one is an awesome accomplishment in their own right.
Whenever this season comes along, I think of this verse, and I am reminded that we have the opportunity to ‘graduate’ continually from ‘one degree of glory to the another’. This is the Father’s intention for each of us. When we go from glory to glory, we are bringing Him glory- again and again. Graduations are a natural manifestation of what we do by the Spirit daily!
The Cambridge Dictionary says the word transform means a complete change in the appearance or character of something or someone, especially so the thing or person is improved. In Greek the word for transform is metamorphoo, and it means to ‘change after being with’. It is the root for our English word metamorphosis.
When we behold HIS glory we ARE transformed into the SAME image, from one degree of glory to the next. We are transformed after beholding the glory of Yahweh. It is not a one-time occurrence, but it happens again and again. We are renewed, improved, changed in appearance and character, and every change or transformation is better than the previous as we become, and look like Him more and more.
Today, I want you to remember that we are spirit beings wrapped in flesh sent into this earth from heavenly places to continually be renewed and transformed, not yearly, seasonally, or even just daily. You may be transformed hourly, even by the minute, if that is what He determines is necessary for you to walk from glory to glory to glory, from one degree to the next. It is not just a transformation of the mind, or the body but it is a complete, full, all-encompassing transformation into the ‘same image’ as our Father, inside and out.
