Strong
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (ESV) 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Have you ever been in a place where you did not feel that you measured up? Or a situation that was too much and became overwhelming? I believe most people, if not all, have one time or another faced moments where they felt life was just too much. It could be an illness, a traumatic event, a relationship that deteriorated, failure in a new venture, addiction, or just poor choices that led to poor outcomes. This heads toward sleepless nights, irritability, worry, unrest, and overall uneasiness. To find relief, too often individuals try to fix the issue themselves, ignore it, or succumb to the difficulty and give up.
But Paul in 2 Corinthians makes a powerful statement: “When I am weak, then I am strong!” Is Paul focusing on being feeble or frail? No, he was identifying that, as a man, he was limited. The ability he had in himself was imperfect and inadequate, and that is the weakness. What he needed was Yahweh to be his strength, not his own capabilities. Paul recognized he could not rely on the “Adam nature” but on the nature of Yahweh.
Psalms 73:26 (ESV) 26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
So, as you start your day, consider where you draw your strength, your identity, and your purpose. The answer is in Yahweh. He will be your strength, He will shape who you are, and He will give you a purpose and place greater than you can imagine. Trust not in your own understanding but have faith in Him. For you are STRONG!
