Wait
Psalms 27:14 (NKJV)
14 Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!
Have you ever been asked to wait on something? If you take a moment and really consider your life, we are asked all the time to wait. Asked to wait on a job or promotion, to wait in line at the grocery store, to wait in traffic, to wait at the DMV, to wait on a loan decision, to wait on the medical report, and the list goes on. It is safe to say that waiting is a part of life.
How do you respond in the middle of your “wait?” Are you impatient, frustrated, or irritated? Do you try to take a shortcut or bypass the “wait?” When it comes to the Kingdom of God, waiting is part of the process of growth and maturity. It develops faith and trust in Yahweh, but also grace, patience, and endurance in life. As a son of Yahweh, we are His reflection, and we are used to expand His Kingdom. There are no shortcuts with Him!
We read “wait on the Lord” and consider that the wait is for some magnificent spiritual event to occur, but often, waiting on the Lord is simply creating grace and patience in you as you stand in a long line. The Father uses those everyday moments in life to transform us. The wait is not meant to harm you, but to work in you as you wait on the Lord.
So, as you start your day, consider how you approach those waiting moments in life. Remember, waiting on the Lord comes in many different forms and may be something unexpected. Those occurrences serve a purpose and will either build up or remove; either way, if received properly, you will be strengthened and prepared for your purpose.
