Tool or Source of Bitterness?

The Rock of Central Florida   -

James 1:3-4
“For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Recently I have considered trials and difficult times and why we are required to walk through them. When these tests come to us, we have a choice, and that choice is all about perspective. If you don’t have the right perspective during a difficult time, bitterness can creep in and alter your whole life. However, when you have the right perspective, that very trial can be used as a tool to produce fruit. In the above passage, it talks about the fruit of “steadfastness” produced by the “testing of your faith.”

I encourage you today to shift your perspective on whatever you are walking in right now. Is it hard? Good! Let it do its work and bring forth abundance in your life. Don’t let bitterness or self loathing come in. These will not only drain you spiritually but mentally and physically as well. It’s hard work to be bitter. Instead, utilize the great gift Yahweh has given to us of walking out hard things. We were made for this!
