Even The Smallest Alignment

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Recently, I had to have new tires put onto my car. I felt a little frustrated by this because it seemed I had just done this not too long ago, and felt the tires did not last as long as they should have- all of which was true.

The outer wall of one front tire was worn, way down, all the way to the metal netting that you rarely see under the tread. It had worn through the tread, through the rubber, to expose the threading of the tire. I was in very real danger of blowing a tire, and possibly getting in an accident. As always, these things could have affected not only myself, but others around me. (It is rarely, I daresay if ever, all about us.) Thanks to one who could see what I did not (it was on the passenger side), I quickly addressed it, to keep myself, my loved ones, and those whom I may not even know safe.

The root turned out to be the alignment. The alignment was ever so slightly off, and over the course of time it caused one tire on one side to wear down so far it could have blown. As I stood and discussed this with a professional, I mentioned that I had no idea. I felt no pulling of the car, or the steering wheel. The tires really weren’t that old nor did they have too many miles on them. They should have lasted far longer, in my opinion. How could the alignment be off?

Alignment in your vehicle can be thrown off by bumps in the road, going too fast over speed bumps, excessive shock, bumping a curb, or hitting potholes, etc. All of these things over time have an effect on the alignment. Misalignment has a great effect on your tires, wearing them out quickly, it can permanently damage them, making your vehicle less fuel efficient and… puts you at high risk for accidents.

The good news is this- corrections can be made! I was blessed beyond measure by the mechanic, who went out of his way to ensure everything that was needed was done, and done with excellence. Four new Goodyear tires, an alignment, and even an oil change were done in one quick and concise visit. All that was needed was provided, and I walked out with a grin on my face. What a gift.

Hear the voice within the voice. Even the smallest, unknown, misalignment can have big consequences, not only to us, but to those around us. Allow for adjustments and corrections, and even new oil to be poured out, right on time. Be mindful, guard your heart, keep your mind, and set your sight on Yahweh God to ensure proper alignment. He’s got you, and He will ensure that everything that needs to be done will be done.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! Psalm 143:10
