Being Led

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Steve has been teaching a series called The Rise of Sons. Recently, he made a statement that I have meditated on. He said (I’m paraphrasing) that to be a son you must be (willing to be) led.

As I have considered these words, I know them to be true, I am well aware of the importance of being led, taught, covered. What caught my attention was that as sons we are called to redeem the earth. We are called to be sons, taught, led, serve, and continually maturing, yet we are called to be leaders, teachers, owners, earth-changers. These two facets of sonship seem to completely opposite of one another yet I love how Yahweh intricately intertwines seemingly two opposites and demonstrates His will and His intent in them to bring fullness, and balance. It can ONLY be done through relationship.

The very one that is leading is the one being led in the Kingdom.

“But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 5:18

The very one that is teaching is the one who is being taught.

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9

The very one that is owning is the one who served and submitted.

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

The very one changing the earth is the one who is continually transformed and maturing in their heart and their mind.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think…” Romans 12:2

Yahweh God’s ways are far higher and supersedes any way of man. There is a way that IS right to a man and that road is a path of life. As we are being taught right now, we then turn and do the same with the demonstration and testimony of our lives. We lead those we come into contact with by being led by the Spirit. We are able to turn and teach others because we ourselves were taught and we receive. We are equipped to own and govern because we serve, submit, volunteer, give freely, and aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty. We, as sons, are changing the earth because we ourselves are constantly changing yet steadfast and sure and solid in our relationship with our Father.
