Going to The Root
Colossians 2:7
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
Something Steve said on a recent Sunday really stuck out to me. He was talking about communicating with Yahweh. He mentioned how we often want Yahweh to heal a symptom when He actually wants to deal with the root of the problem. For example, we may pray to Yahweh to heal our headache, when He really wants to show us what is causing the headaches in the first place.
Now consider the above passage. Not only does Yahweh want to deal with the source of our problems, He wants us to root ourselves completely in Him, so that we may overflow with thankfulness. Yahweh loves uprooting what does not belong and then planting what does! This week, continue to meditate and commune with Yahweh. Allow Him to illuminate the areas in your life that need to be pulled up by the roots. I can promise you it will be uncomfortable, but you will begin to mature and change for the better.
