Greatest Investment
Luke 6:38 (ESV) 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
Have you ever asked the question “what’s in it for me?” I know I have been guilty of it. You gauge how you much of yourself you are willing to sow or give, based on what benefit you will collect. We do it in our relationships, in our jobs, in school, in church and yes even with God. We weigh how much this will cost me, and scale it to how much return can be received. We view life as an investment’s rate of return.
In Yahweh’s Kingdom, He calls us to serve, to give, to sow, and put our faith in Him; Who will provide, Who will give increase, and Who will bless. The focus is not on self or the “rate of return,” but rather on Him and others. If we FIRST seek Yahweh’s Kingdom and His righteousness, then all things will be added to us.
So, as you start your day, consider how you approach your life. Are your decisions based on the benefit you will receive from others or from Yahweh, or is it on being obedient to Him regardless the cost? Give all of yourself to Yahweh. Trust Him, pursue His righteous, embrace His purpose, and it will be your greatest investment!
Matthew 6:20-21 (ESV) 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
