Every Generation Matters
Genesis 17:7
“I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.”
As we have learned recently, Yahweh is a generational God. Yes, He deals with us in the moment, but He also considers those who came before us and those who will come after. To Him, it is all “now.”
Because He exists in the now, our age is irrelevant. Whether we are old or young, Yahweh has a purpose for us to fulfill, and everyone’s part has equal importance. For the young, you should be drawing on the previous generation and learning from their successes and failures. For the more mature, you should training the next generation and helping them take the right steps. Also, you shouldn’t be afraid to learn something new from them. You should never be too old to learn!
My encouragement to you this week is to find your place (no matter which generation you come from) and thrive there. Be the best version of yourself. Be an example to others. Maybe some around you have given up, and they just need you to show them their rightful place.
