Be Still

The Rock of Central Florida   -

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalms 46:10

Communicating with Yahweh should be a vital part of our daily lives. It should not be out of routine or ritual, but out of a genuine desire for relationship.  We should be striving to have a conversation with Him as we would have with a spouse, a friend or loved one.  Yahweh does not want to be talked “at,” but communicated with.  As we have learned in a recent Sunday service, prayer is more than a list of requests; it is a connection, through faith, between a son/daughter and his Father.

For connection to be effective, the communication must run two ways.  It cannot just be one sided, but a positioning of speaking and hearing.  In Psalms 46, He calls us to be still.  Not just in our actions, but also in our communication with Him.  We need to be still in our minds, in our emotions, and in our spirit so we may hear Yahweh.  He is constantly conversing with us, we just have to be still sometimes to hear Him.

Yes, being still can be a hard thing to do, but out of faith, press in and chose to be still.  So, as you start your day, consider your connection with Yahweh.  What is He saying to you?  What is He showing you?  In your stillness, you will be amazed by what you hear and see.
