Your Countenance
The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6: 24-26 (ESV)
If you’re happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it, if you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!
– This line from a popular children’s song, was taught to me by my mother, who was my first Sunday School teacher. As a child, I got a kick out of trying to get all the adults to LOOK like they were happy!
Now, as a son in the Kingdom of God, I realize that your countenance comes from Yahweh as a gift. The first thing people notice about you is your facial expressions, and it tells them how you feel right now! The Father gives us His countenance because we are His expression in the earth. Your face tells it all!!
As you go about your day today, do a self-check once in a while to see if your face matches AND reflects heaven and Yahweh. It might be tough, but remember; this takes practice until it’s in you!
