Laying Shame at His Feet
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22
As we have been taught recently, guilt and shame have the ability to consume our entire lives. When we hold onto a burden, it becomes a full time job mentally, where the only thoughts we have are of the wrong we’ve done. Yahweh never meant for us to carry this. Imagine how many people are walking around with these heavy weights on their backs. Their full attention is devoted to their shame and guilt.
Now, imagine how much good these same people could do if they were free of that weight. How much innovation and purpose is lost because our focus is on the wrong thing? I encourage you this week to place these burdens at the feet of Yahweh. Ask him to free your mind and heart, so that you can begin to accomplish what you were put on this earth to do. Ask Him to sustain you. The freedom this will bring will allow you to move again and then in turn, help others to walk in the same freedom.
