Actions Speak Volumes
“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” James 2:14-17
I work in an industry where there is a lot of dialogue. What I mean is people are constantly opening their mouths (employees and customers alike) and saying many things. Some of the talk can be positive but other times, it is very negative. I have also witnessed on a daily basis where someone says they will do something, but then back it up with no action.
Let me tell you from experience, people will remember you more for what you do and not as much for what you say. Like the above scripture references, I can talk about feeding and clothing someone, or I can go and actually do it. What good am I just talking about it? Let me encourage you this week to put action to your words. If you see a problem, don’t just complain about it, SOLVE IT! Yahweh made us to be people of action, so that we may be an example to those around us.
