He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things that are new and fresh and things that are old and familiar.” Matthew 13:52
Your life is significant. It’s full of meaning. It’s wrought in and with purpose. I’ve been thinking about scribing. That word may sound academic, obsolete, or even boring, but let’s think of it as remembering and recording and not about an ancient person with a parchment that we can’t relate to. Who is Yahweh to you? Who are you to Him? What are characteristics of your relationship with Him, and what things have You done for each other? What is the shape of your testimony? What is something that you just know in your soul and spirit?
Today, I encourage you to record something about you and Yahweh. More than thinking about it, put pen to paper, or record a voice memo, or create a vision board, or tell your child, your sister, or friend. Record even one thing to look at your treasures. What is new and fresh? What is old and familiar?
This is an opportunity for you to strike hands with Heaven and declare, quietly or loudly, that Yahweh is real in you. It’s not for anyone to critique: it’s a way for you to meditate, to recognize Him, and to worship. Yahweh loves when we remember not only what He’s done, but who He is, and He loves for you to engage Heaven and Earth together. Maybe you can set a weekly reminder on your phone, and keep a Note there, or a journal in your nightstand, that marks in this day how very good He is.
