God Centered
“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” Matthew 6:33
I have considered the importance recently of living a God centered life. What does that mean? It means we put Yahweh God at the center of everything, in every area of life. I think, sometimes, believers feel that because they are a “Christian” that it automatically means the Father is at the center of every area of our lives… but is that true?
Living a God centered life isn’t hard. Do we considered Him in decisions and ask Him His thoughts on the matter? Do we take time to sit in His counsel? Do the things we do, say, and our character look like Him? When He is at the center our life will bring Him glory. We will talk about Him at the table, He will be seen in our work life, our home life, in our relationships, in our hobbies. Sometimes it is about what we say, but more often than not, it is in our actions, in our character, our behavior, the way we carry ourselves. When He is the center it affects the core of who we are.
SEEK. Seek to see His kingdom and righteousness. Not our own. There is a way of doing things that are good to man…. but there is a way of doing things that are good to the Father. There is a way of being right to man…. but there is a way of righteousness in Yahweh God. There is a way of carrying ourselves…. and there is a way of walking, talking, and behaving in the character of our God. Seek to see and to know His ways. As we begin to seek Him relationship begins to build. As we talk with Him and listen to His voice, we begin to have His mind and His thoughts. As we look to Him, we begin to look like Him and so does everything we are involved in.
May today be a day of consideration. There is no condemnation, but an opportunity to adjust, shift, and make changes if necessary. Begin to consider Him in not only huge decisions, but daily decisions. Seek Him with all that you are…. and “ALL these things will be given to you.”
