See With His Eyes
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
What a glorious gift we have received in grace from Yahweh! As I completed a workshop recently, one of the closing comments spoke to challenges. The speaker said that even when we struggle on the outside, we remain good inside. It would be easy to dismiss this idea to cling to a sinner’s mindset (please listen to Steve Parker’s teachings on being a son vs a sinner), or we can truly choose and practice seeing the good in ourselves and others. We’ve learned about the difference between seeing with Christ’s or Adam’s eyes. Christ’s eyes come with grace, and Adam’s with quick judgment. Today, offer yourself, your spouse, your coworkers, and your children grace. Remember that we are part earth on purpose, and we are going to experience difficulties in any given day. If we falter in any moment, or if we are present for another’s struggle, take care to remember that there is still lots of good inside. Yahweh’s mercies are new every morning!
Yahweh’s love for us isn’t contingent on works. We don’t need to constantly monitor and grade ourselves or others. Instead, receive from Him in His amazing grace. Remember that what Yahweh made, He saw as good from the very beginning. See with His eyes today!
