Deep Things

The Rock of Central Florida   -
Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision, and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:2-3

We recently sang the song “Deep Things” by Kaley Hoffman on a Sunday morning. Part of the song says, “I’m walking into the deep. I’m leaving the shallow things.” I had just been singing this song the day before, and I remembered a service years ago where all the congregation took a physical, collective step forward. We walked around the living room together, striking hands, singing, and taking our steps. I remembered the power of that day, and every time we have sung this song since, I consider it!

When we immerse ourselves in songs like these, we can visualize the intentional movement from shallow to deep. When we physically take a step, we bring the spiritual and the natural together. It’s not silly; it’s significant! It really matters. It gives our brains the opportunity to experience something tangible – it sets a fresh reference point and allows us to practice the unseen.

Even in practical things, as you are taking steps in your goals, stand up. Take a breath. Then take a step. Now look back and see the movement and progress you’ve already made. This is a powerful tool for you to strike hands with Heaven!
