Psalm 34:8

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Taste and see that Yahweh is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8

Last week I asked my team to consider what that verse means to them. Posing that question made me consider the importance of occupying your seat at His table, or your role in your family, or your job for your employer, etc. I believe it’s necessary to self evaluate and ensure that you are in your place and not trespassing by trying to occupy someone else’s seat or role.

Trespassing can be as simple as trying to do a job that you know how to do, but that is not your job to do. With a servant’s heart, that’s an easy line to cross with the best of intentions.

When I am seated or positioned to serve in the ways He wants me to, whatever is served at that seat is mine to eat. It is nourishment for my purpose, wisdom that I need, peace from Yahweh, joy, hope…whatever I have need of! The goodness of Yahweh overflows. I can only truly taste and see when I am occupying my seat at the table, whatever table that is. Otherwise, my perspective of Yahweh will always be from someone else’s viewpoint. I want to taste and see for myself! Today, I encourage you to do the same.
