The Way to His Heart

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Back in my college days, and right after I received Christ, I participated in a Christian recording as a “back-up” singer on the album. I was new to this, both to Christianity and laying down tracks in a studio. There were two friends of mine making this LP(long playing) compilation of original music, and I was going to be a part of it.
Looking back on that whole experience, I remember thinking; “If it was Christian music, it had to be right.” You learn to trust those around you to guide and help the walk you are in with them. Thankfully, most of the album was scripture based and I felt really blessed to be in the “mix”, so to speak.
There was one particular song that always stuck out to me on this recording, and one line from the lyrics that I have never forgotten. It said; “It’s not just believing in Him, it’s receiving Him…” I realized the truth in this statement and began walking it out from then until now. My friend, who had “penned” the line, was wiser than I knew at the time. He was saying something that the church hadn’t really talked about, and that was the key to asking and receiving through prayer.
Today, as you read this scripture and compare what Steve has been preaching in the House, understand that a solid relationship with the Father is the way to His heart, and not a list of things you think you need from Him. He knows better than you, whether you understand or not. Just as I trusted my friends in Christ back then and was learning about Yahweh, relationship was always the key to this Kingdom walk. Build those relationships around you, but most of all, build the one that is foundational to the rest. Yahweh desires your heart, soul and mind, and that is our first commitment to Him, the one who keeps us.
