True Honor
Recently Holy Spirit has been teaching me about honor. He told me that saying, “I honor you!” isn’t a true offering of honor at all. It has to cost me something for my words to carry the weight of glory. It does not have to be a monetary gift of honor, it just has to be giving something away from yourself that is more than just words – something that physically demonstrates that your words are valuable.
I’ve really had to adjust my thinking and even my actions with this new revelation. I am all about giving honor to whom honor is due! I never want my honor to be only words. Talk is cheap!
I can honor someone by picking up their favorite coffee and dropping it off to them. I can honor someone by asking them how their day was – offering my attention and care. I can honor someone by giving them a hug! I can honor someone by writing them a letter about what they mean to me, or what I see in them that maybe they don’t see. There are countless ways to honor someone! I encourage you to consider how you can honor those worthy of honor in your life today.
Let it be more than words from your lips!
