Good Forevermore
“These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival. Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” Psalm 42: 4-6
David has a way of expressing his soul that is so vivid, with its highs and lows. In these verses, he frames his current anguish with time. He reflects on the past to remember joyous days, he acknowledges his present feeling, and then he orients himself to the future, knowing that true praise will come again.
At Dyhn, we have a movement that speaks to this. We stand, with arms outstretched, looking behind us to honor our past, then moving our gaze to our present day, and finally looking forward to what is to come. This is a powerful framework, as our natural being is meant to consider Yahweh’s full faithfulness. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When you are in a challenging time, position yourself to move beyond the circumstances and feelings of today by rehearsing your testimony. It will ground yourself in His faithfulness so that you can flow through and into what is next. Let this build your soul with hope to speak to your tomorrow. He has been good, He is good, and He always will be. I bless you today!
