Open Hands
“But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?” 1 John 3:17
Something I have tried to do (especially later in life) is to never hold onto things so tight, that I am unwilling to let them go. I always want my hands to be open. I want to be generous and never keep things for myself. This, I have found, is the key to true happiness. Some of the most miserable people I know are also the most selfish.
This is one of the most practical aspects of the Kingdom. If you find yourself in a depressed state or in a rut, seek out a way to give of yourself and serve someone. It could be your time or a kind word. It doesn’t even have to be money, but it can be. Always be willing to have open hands. Yahweh has blessed us, and we should look for ways share with those in need.
I want to encourage you this week to sow into someone in need. Hear Holy Spirit, so that you do not sow out of season or into something that you were not meant to breathe life into. Love you all and have a great week!
