Be Still
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
We are all busy! Whether it be with work, family, the holidays, our pets, the maintenance our vehicles need, keeping up with laundry, or even house chores! Sometimes it feels like the to-do list requires more hours than you have in a day!
As you start your day today, I encourage you to take a moment and be still. Be still. When my mind is cluttered and it’s showing in my tone of voice or through the “hurry” in my step, my brother tells me to be still and breathe. He says, “It’s time to breathe.” We inhale for 4 seconds, hold that breath for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, and then wait for 4 seconds before repeating that pattern. Those 16 seconds require me to be still and do nothing but breathe. There is something very powerful about being intentional with breathing! The pneuma of God is the breath in your lungs.
Today, I encourage you to be still and know that He is God! He is with you in all things. Inhale that pneuma, hold that pneuma, exhale that pneuma, and remember that your purpose is more than the responsibilities on your plate today. Your agenda is important, but your life is more than your agenda. Allow the pneuma of God, the breath of God, cause you to be still for a moment and rejuvenate every cell in your body.
