The Peace of Yahweh
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:4-8
Every now and then, just when I feel I have been unjustly accused of something, Holy Spirit gives me the privilege of ministering to someone who is actually dealing with the same thing I am. Imagine that! Just when I begin to justify and excuse my behavior or reaction to a situation, there comes along an opportunity for me to hear the “voice within the voice”, and that voice is my own. A friend called and was sharing a relationship problem they were having, and wanted my advice on the issue. It didn’t take long to give an answer to my friend, because it was in me all the time.
Sometimes, we feel that we are the only ones who have a “thing” that only the Father will understand and begin to search for the answer, only to find out it was always present in us and we are His voice and His ears for ANY given circumstance. Rather, as the scripture above says: Rejoice! Anxiety never produces a holy response, especially when we have not been guarding our heart and our mind. Isn’t it nice to know that the peace of Yahweh is ours, especially when we have to go outside of ourselves to others and minister to them first.
Suddenly, that peace is very evident in our life, but most importantly, that same peace becomes evident in those He sends us to.
