Dance Like David Danced
We currently have great flooding here in Central Florida, specifically in Seminole County. There is much to be said about the effect it has had on our land, what it has changed, what it has brought, but I am going to focus on one. Recently, a news report stated that the flooding, specifically from the St. Johns River, would likely remain for several more weeks, through Thanksgiving. I heard it differently.
“I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14
There are no exceptions- there is no time when we do not praise and give thanks to our Creator, Yahweh God. We demonstrate ‘This is the way, walk in it’ from the ascended place where our eyes are locked on His face. We are not temperamental with our thanksgiving and gratitude. This means it is not based on mood, circumstance or situation, or time of day. We praise Him because His works are WONDERFUL, His ways are WONDERFUL, He is WONDERFUL and full of intent and goodness; and we are wonderfully made, full of intent and His goodness because He lives in you and me.
“And David was dancing before the LORD with great enthusiasm, and David was wearing a linen ephod [a priest’s upper garment]. So David and all the house of Israel were bringing the ark of the LORD up [to the City of David] with shouts [of joy] and with the sound of the trumpet.” 2 Samuel 6:14-15
Rejoice, and again I say, rejoice. Rejoice over these waters! With enthusiasm like David. Let your praise be full of shouts of joy, with abandonment and zeal. Be excited to have the opportunity to glorify the Father and give all of your praise to Him in thanksgiving, giving all honor and all glory to Him.
