What Is Seen
We all know the story of Joseph, the dreamer, in Genesis 38 and how his brothers sold him into slavery. Joseph ended up facing many trials, but through it all, he remained faithful to God and did not compromise.
One major aspect of Joseph’s life stood out in scripture, and it is the statement in Genesis 39:3,“His master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD caused all that he did to succeed in his hands.” Wow! What a statement.
Joseph’s master, Potiphar, was a pagan polytheistic Egyptian. Yet, he recognized that Yahweh God was with Joseph. Potiphar did not perceive by his natural eyes, but by the spirit. He SAW the presence of the One true living God through Joseph. But how can a “non- believer” see God? God was with Joseph because he was a faithful son. And if God is with you, how can He NOT be seen in your life?
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
The life we live now SHOULD reflect Christ. As people see us, they SHOULD see Him! So, as you start your day, ask yourself; what do others see when they look at you? Do they see an ordinary person, who is just going through the process of life? Or do they see a son of the one true living God! Do they see a new creation in Christ? Do they see Yahweh God as Potiphar did with Joseph?
“To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24
