Taking Ownership in the Olam
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Eph 5:16
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” Col 4:5
Ga-al is the Hebrew word for redeem. It means, to regain the right of passage. Another meaning is to “avenge bloodshed, or, to require blood.” The Olam is everlasting after and everlasting before. He (The Olam/Yahweh) exists without a beginning or an end. Man’s spirit is of the Olam, however, there is an order for mankind. First the natural then the spiritual. Because, we were are Spirit wrapped in an incorruptible flesh, before sin. At the time of creation, spirit and soul coincided, in an incorruptible flesh. The flesh allowed the spirit and soul of man to have dominion over the earth. That is the purpose of flesh (the first responsibility). It was never intended to rule over soul and spirit. However, disobedience subjected the soul to the flesh and the spirit to the soul.
So, if you noticed, the verb ga-al (redeem) expressed an eternal order. The order is first the natural (to require blood), then the spirit (to avenge bloodshed/the second responsibility). Without this proper order you nor I could have experienced the Olam again. Joshua The Christ has already given the blood required. In doing so, Joshua restored, redeemed and reconciled the proper order of, the original intent. Which is for the spirit and soul to coincide and for the flesh (mankind) to redeem the earth.
Therefore, we as sons have to take ownership of two major truths. The ga-al (avenge the bloodshed) is our responsibility. Redeem the time, because the days are evil, says Colossians. Meaning the evil within and the evil out we are to become light to. Secondly, this land is our bread and we are to subdue the earth with seeds of the Olam.
Yes and Amen!
