What Do You Bring
“In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard.” Genesis 4:3-5
What have you brought before Yahweh? What did it cost you? Did you till the ground and bring fruit from your own works or did you bring a living sacrifice? Something that is valuable to you. You see, Abel’s offering was his first and best. It even represented Yahweh’s abundance (fat portions). It was brought out of relationship, and Abel had a willingness to bring it! Cane tilled the ground. He worked a field and brought forth a harvest to give to Yahweh. On the surface, it would seem that this was acceptable. However, Yahweh DOES not desire what you produce with your hands. He wants relationship with you. He loves every part of who you are!
Works are meaningless, but out of the relationship, the WORK that is done will change the earth and delight Yahweh!
