New Curiosity
“Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” Psalm 90:1-2
A good friend of mine recently mentioned how much Yahweh delights in our discovery of new things. She reminded me that it isn’t “new” to Him, but He is delighted by our discovery.
While rocking my baby to sleep, I thought about how I feel when she discovers new things. Whether it be discovering something by observation, audibly, or discovering something through exploration, her discovery of new things delights me. It doesn’t have to be “new” to me for me to feel delighted by her curiosity and exploration and discovery.
We will never discover anything “new” to Him. He is everlasting. Olam. But as a parent, on a very small scale compared to Yahweh, I can relate to the delight it brings when you witness your child discover “new” things. I can only imagine how much delight it brings the Father when we see things for the first time, hear things for the first time, and explore things in Him for the first time.
Today let us look with new eyes, listen with new ears, and explore with new curiosity to bring delight to Yahweh!
