“There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear…” Isaiah 11:1-3
As a young woman once stated, “You become what you behold.” In Intercession we have just finished seven weeks of beholding with the intent set on a deeper understanding of our Father and interceding how to effectively utilize what has been made available to us. Each week a different individual brought what was already within them: the Spirit of the Lord, Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Knowledge, and the Fear of the Lord were illuminated, declared, and engaged on a deeper level. It opened dialog with questions presented that provoked multiple, and sometimes, contradicting answers. It was full, a seven-course meal, as we dined at a new table.
Each one of these are a facet within Yahweh God who dwells within you and me and He has made them available to whosoever. It is where we are more perfectly aligned, and He has opened a door to answer the call of Wisdom and know Him through intimate relationship. We are invited into a new space of Understanding, in the innermost place, where He guides in Counsel as we ascend and descend, and we walk in full confidence as we carry out His will and intent in this day. Fear is flipped and becomes a gateway of action to honor, respect, and awe. It is more than an assignment, more than a task, but rather living the life that He sent us to demonstrate as we come into agreement with the whole of who He is to dwell, function, and flow through us.
It is time. Behold what is within Him and therefore within you. Draw from, engage with, meditate on what He has opened to you. Go beyond knowing about Wisdom to utilizing her with discernment. Go beyond seeking advice to being guided in His Counsel. See Might as more than sheer strength to confidence in His Spirit, and step past what you think you knew into what He is showing you now and allow the Spirit of God to rest up on you.
