No Missing Pieces
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?” Matthew 18:12
Many people try to weigh and balance the importance between the 99 and the 1 sheep that went off. Have you ever considered that if both were mentioned, both are equally important. I have personally been amongst the 99 and I have also been the single wandering sheep.
In walking with the 99 there was a specific strength that held me up. Think about if you were a sheep and you were cold. You can literally huddle with other sheep to find warmth. There is truth to the saying “There is strength in numbers.” I also believe that there is love, joy, wisdom, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that can be shared amongst the 99. And even in this place we are still dwelling with the Father as He ushers the one, back home.
Now don’t think that, that the “one” is this pitiful, lonely sheep that is completely hopeless. Yahweh pursues the “one” as a PIECE of a WHOLE, without ever making them feel like less than what he designed us to be. Even in our brokenness, we are whole in HIM.
No one was left out in this story because He needs your piece, whatever that looks like.
