Strong Man
“And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.” Mark 3:26-27
I love when I see God’s word in a different light than before. Hoping to encourage you and bring completeness to past teachings, teachings which taught many of us that we are the strong man. This is why I have chosen to share this scripture with you. We are the ones responsible for all that dwells within our house. Yes! This is a true principle, but it is limiting and is only half the story and does not reveal the complete truth.
When we take note of what was happening and why Christ made this statement it will help the greater truth to be revealed. Like so many times, it is clearly stated with simplicity, but holds a deeper meaning than what is obviously understood.
Let’s examine His statement a little deeper. In verse 22, the scribes were accusing Christ of being possessed by the prince of demons, Beelzebub. And said, it was by Beelzebub’s authority that Christ was able to cast out demons. So, Christ replied to them with this statement, “How can Satan cast out Satan?” He also said that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand and will soon fall and come to an end. But the clincher is when He said, ”But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.”
Christ new their hearts and realized that they were looking for reasons to accuse him of being a blasphemer. So, he chose to let them know without telling them directly that He, the strong man, had already bound Satan by the authority of His Father Yahweh. That is the complete truth and it is the reason why you and I can be the strong man of our homes. Through Christ, we have been given the victory over the enemy. Yes and Amen!
