Alignment And Timing

The Rock of Central Florida   -

But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” (Matt 4:4)

One of the things that made Jesus’ ministry so effective was His timing. He was always in the right place at the appointed moment. For example; the woman at the well…when Lazarus died…turning water into wine…and…in three days He rose again. Nothing that Jesus did was ever out of timing or without consideration. His ability to say the perfect phrase or be in the perfect moment was because of his relationship with Yahweh. In John, Jesus says that he and his father are one. Meaning they were of the same mind, will and spirit.

Now, sometimes being in the right moment isn’t going to pleasant or easy. Just as Jesus was tempted to eat after he had just finished fasting for forty days and nights – eating would seem to be the normal thing to do however, it wasn’t about nourishing the body as much as it was about aligning His Spirit with His Father’s. This is what made Jesus’ response, “…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God…,” so profound.

Understand this: Jesus did not purposely fast himself into near starvation to prove something to the tempter. His motive was always right alignment and subjecting the soul to the will of the Father because He understood that without complete submission to the will of the one who sent him, He could not accomplish his purpose.

Therefore, if Jesus had to purposely align himself with the Father what about you and I? How can we not miss the moment – great or small – if we are not constantly aligning ourselves with the Father and His purpose for our lives. This is why we are to be so thankful for the Holy Spirit. Without Him, it would be impossible to know the mind and nature of Him who sent us. Amen!
