The Kauf of Your Hand
“And the LORD said unto him, what is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.” (Exodus 4:2)
The Hebrew word Kauf, means, “the palm of your hand” according Strong’s Commentary. Having something placed in the palm of your hand or someone to lay the palm of their hand on you is the pulling or calling out the potential manifestation from within you. It is the transferring of authority and/or blessings from a father to the son. It can also signify agreement.
Yahweh asked Moses what was in his hand when he and the Children of Israel were being pursued by Pharoah. They were caught in a very difficult place which seemed hopeless. However, Yahweh had already equipped Moses with all that he needed to delivered His people. When Moses stretched forth the rod in his hand, the Red Sea was parted and they were able to cross on dry land.
You and I may not have been given a rod, but we all have been given a purpose. A purpose that has been place into the Kauf of our hands. The same hands we are to lift in praise and worship whenever times become difficult or good. We clap our hands as a form of praise. We clasp hand to come in agreement with one another.
As a young man I remember asking my grandmother for money to buy candy. In that moment, she walks up to me and grabbed my wrist and turn my hands upward. She then said to me, “all the money you will ever need is in the palms of your hands.” I can imagine Yahweh saying the same thing to us whenever we ask him for anything. All you ever need has already been given unto us. Yes and Amen!
