Immediately Yes

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Mark 1:16-18 (ESV) 16 Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed him.

As you read this passage, the word that really sticks out is immediately! Have you ever been asked to do something or to respond immediately? It can be very stressful, especially if it is a life-alternating decision. When you look up the definition of immediately, it means at once—instantly. So, at once, Simon (Peter) and Andrew made a life-altering decision. They did not consult with family or friends or have to “pray about it.” Peter did not check with his wife. Each of them immediately, at once, made a choice. Because they knew something about this Man was Holy and it had to be right!

In Yahweh’s kingdom, there are moments when He will ask you a question or direct you. And is our answer immediate or delayed? Remember, He is the One true living God, the Creator of the Universe, the great I AM, and He decided to spoke to you. Is our response: let me consult with my family, pray about it, or should it be immediate? Responding to Yahweh immediately is not about how fast you can answer; it is about whether you are responding out of faith or not. Being immediate is a demonstration of obedience and trust; delay would have been one of uncertainty and disbelief.

So, as you start your day, consider your response to Yahweh. Are you quick to act to His direction? Are you ready to answer him? Saying yes to Him will always be right, and a delay may miss your opportunity. When Yahweh asks you to do something, we should always be ready to say yes. Consider the consequences if you did not.
