Make It Real
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
I recently read something that said in Christianity we need to take care that our beliefs aren’t just ideological but are transformative. We can say, remember, and repeat many wise phrases – many verses or good points, but how we truly relate to Yahweh, Christ, and Holy Spirit is meant to be a transformative process. It is good to rehearse – in fact, necessary, the things of the spirit. But be sure to let them go blood-deep. Steve taught years ago about the difference between the bread and the blood of communion. The bread does feed, but ultimately it is about the external work. The blood is the unseen work, the transformative part within.
To be “unveiled” as this verse says, is to be honest and authentic with Yahweh. That requires internal honesty and vulnerability. From there, contemplate who Yahweh is and what Christ did to renew your spiritual place in God. What we believe must be more than words and ideologies: it’s meant to actually be transformative! With “ever-increasing glory.” This only comes from our God. What a beautiful promise, and it requires something of you. Make it real today!
