He Anointed You
”And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us.”
2 Corinthians 1:21 I recently had a conversation with a friend while holding my toddler, and I was aware of his anointing as we spoke. He had been quiet, but words weren’t needed for the anointing to be at work. After the conversation, I wanted to teach him about his anointing and said that Yahweh had given him something when he was made that was a special part of God in him. He asked, “Did I thank Yahweh for that?” I was very touched by this sweet response, and I said, “Lets thank Him now. Thank you, Yahweh, for Your anointing.” He said, “Did Yahweh say you’re welcome?” And I smiled and said He had.
This exchange blessed me, and I believe it is a seed for my child to understand how he relates to his creator. While we do practice manners, his heart of thankfulness was more than a rote response. He was listening. He was responding. He was speaking with Yahweh.
Moreover, what a a reminder to thank our God for how carefully and thoughtfully He created each of us! Let us thank Him for how He anointed us. Let us ask to hear His voice back, to have a conversation with Him. Thank Him today as you consider who you are in Him and what He deposited in you that is pure and unique. His imprint in who you are. Your anointing is powerful, active, and holy. We thank you, Father!
