Change Brings Abundance

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

This past week I had a favorite encounter. I do not often carry cash, but I happened to have some on hand, so I used it going through a drive-thru. As I did, I decided to give the exact amountneeded. As I dug through my wallet to find exact change I apologetically told the girl in the window, “Just a minute, I’m giving you some change.” Her response was fantastic, “No problem, we always want change- we’ll take all the change we can get!” That girl had no idea, but I was having church right there in my car. She saw the value. Her perspective was the same as the son who was in front of her- I was adding to her with an increase in change, not taking from her in time. I saw beyond the natural moment and the deeper significance of perspective.

What an incredible response! Not “just hurry up” but “we’ll take all the change we can get.” Too many times the human, natural response is to do the opposite. This is not the Father’s perspective though, and His perspective is to be our perspective, His heart is our heart. Yahweh loves change so much He put it into all of creation. Seasons, climates, tides, atmospheres, the weather- and that is just on this earth. Yahweh is all about change, and His change is the exact change requiredfor perfection (maturity).

Change is signified by action, to turn, to put into place, renew, to revise. It can be uncomfortable, disruptive, and often leads into an unknown. It may happen instantly or it may take time, but we serve an Olam God who does not see time as a 24 hour time period. Change is growth, increase, life, and to be celebrated. Sometimes it is very challenging, sometimes not, but when it is according to His word it is always fruitful and productive.

When we set our hearts to be aligned with His will, it changes everything. Our mindset changes, the way we see changes, even the way we hear things changes. It will begin to change our desires, it changes who we want to be around, and can even change what we enjoy (and what we don’t). When our heart is His heart and our perspective is His, change becomes an opportunity… and change brings abundance.
