The Spirit of Truth
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
John 16:13
Truth is a beautiful thing. In Hebrew, the word for truth is emet. This word has within it the first, the middle, and the last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. There are no coincidences with the Father, all that He does is intentional. These letters within the word emet (truth) are a reminder that truth is all encompassing and is important from beginning to end and everywhere in between. All that the Father does is in truth, it is WHO He is.For those are in a process right now, it is important to keep truth wrapped tight around you.
In culture today, the Spirit of truth is frequently dishonored. How? If we do not like it, or if it is painful, or maybe it will cause discomfort or friction, society often looks away, or avoids it, makes excuses, finds a “loophole”, and it is not necessarily a lie, but it also is not the truth.
It is beautiful when the truth sets one, some or a multitude free. (John 8:32) It is magnificent when a son stands firm, and gird with belt of truth. (Ephesians 6:14) And finally, it is all glory to the Father when a son is birthed into a new creation through the word of truth. (James 1:18)
My encouragement today is this, lean into Yahweh’s unfailing truth. See as He sees. Whether it comes from reading the written word, listening to the word in the house, or maybe it even comes from a faithful friend. Let the Spirit of truth be life to your bones. Let truth walk with you and surround you, in the beginning and in the end and everywhere in between. Let truth start the day with you, and then do not lose sight somewhere along the way, but stay consistent, stay constant, stay present. Stand firm and stand sure. Do not let doubt or worry seep in so that you start strong and then lose steam, but rather remember who your Father is, who’s word is in your belly, who you are; and remember His truth is with you from beginning to end, through the entire process. Ask yourself, “What does the Father say?” and stand there.
