The Culture of Sonship
Isaiah 43:19
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
We have been learning recently that as sons, we are called to change the culture around us. We have been given instruction to chip away at the rock little by little until change occurs. The culture change does not happen overnight and takes time. So, what do we do when the rock in front of us has been reduced to dust? We move onto the next rock Yahweh has told us to break up.
So how is this cultural change described? Yahweh, in the above passage, likens the new thing He brings to streams in the wasteland. Notice that Yahweh does not associate it with a flood. Streams of water are small, but they can be very effective and even overwhelming in large numbers. We are called as sons to change the culture. We are called to bring streams of water to the wasteland.
This week, focus on the small things you can do to change the culture around you. Make small, but decisive changes and watch the flood come.
