Holy Spirit
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
When my children were small, and even now that they are adults, I encourage them to press into Holy Spirit. I wanted Him to be like a great friend they could rely on, from the simple and small to the great and magnificent. I wanted their relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Ghost to be practical and super-natural. When they needed anything- from asking Holy Ghost, “Please help me find my keys!” to “Help me navigate this unknown path!” I wanted them to know that they have the Helper in every circumstance, that Holy Ghost is a faithful gift, and it is the Spirit of God, the almighty Himself.
As they grew, I imparted to them that He is the ultimate helper, and when you do not know what to do, ask Holy Ghost. Holy Spirit, like Yahweh God Himself, was not some far off idea that we worshiped on Sundays. He is ever present, and when we speak to Him there is no wrong way to do it. Likewise, I wanted my seed to know Holy Spirit was right there, available at any moment for whatever they may need. They could talk, pray, inquire of Holy Ghost at any moment. He is wonderful counsel, an advocate, strengthening, and life giving.
This is a simple reminder today, but one that is so important. Holy Spirit, the who and the what He is for the sons of God is deep and vast and multifaceted, but remembering the Helper is available to you and with you at all times is to be valued. Holy Spirit dwells within you and within me. He is available to the young and the old, the immature and the mature. He is the helper sent ready to breath the breath of the Father. He is always present, waiting to hear from you, and ready to speak wisdom and life into every moment. Spend time talking, praying, listening and engaging. The fruit will be evident in your life immediately.
