Your Environment
God does not see as man sees, since man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
I recently saw a social media post (credit: hillsofhope) saying that if you went underwater and inhaled and exhaled, you would be taking the steps to breathe, but because you’re in the environment of water, you would drown. Likewise, you can read your Bible, attend church, and memorize Scripture, but if the environment of your heart is not right, then these can be empty gestures. In fact, we know that Yahweh does not judge by works but by faith (Galatians 2:16). Are we going through the motions, while the real environment of our hearts is overlooked?
When Yahweh created the earth, He established that environment to birth and sustain all that would follow. Everything needed was there so that we could continue the maturing process. When the environment of the heart is right, anything is possible! First, the heart. Examine your own heart today. Has busyness, habit, or hurt disrupted it? Do you look the part, but it goes no further? Consider your thoughts, motivations, and patterns. Cultivate that beautiful environment in your heart and see the life that will purely flow from it.
