Charge Us

Romans 12:12 (ESV) 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

As we enter this Christmas season, I cannot help but reflect on the many blessings in my life.  I am thankful for family, for friends, for my church family, and for the goodness of Yahweh in my life.  The gift of grace and life that was given to me through His Son Jesus.  Through Him enable me to become a son, no longer a vagabond.  Equally valuable is the continued transformation of my heart as He continues to challenge, guide, and support this son in those difficult moments.  Those moments of testing, those moments of assessing, those low moments and even those overwhelming moments.  Yahweh continues to be faithful and good.

In Romans 12:12, He charges us to rejoice and be patient in those “moments.”  Because as we walk as a son of God, we have a heavenly Father who is with us and for us.  Regardless of the trial or tribulation, He will use it for our good.  He will use it to change us, to equip us, and to benefit us.  Knowing this, how can we not rejoice and be patient as we charge on.

So, as you start your day, remember the faithfulness and goodness of our Father.  Reminisce of the journey you have already walked and rejoice and be patient in the journey yet to come.  Yahweh does not want to crush you, but to lift you, as you continue in your walk as a son.
