Walking Correctly
“You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity. You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah(dry), and a just hin(liquid): I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.” Lev. 19:35-36
I was walking today down through an industrial park, as I do 3 or 4 times a week, and I kicked something with my foot. I looked down and saw a lead weight from a truck tire rim lying in the road. My first thought was, “That’s not supposed to be there, it’s meant to be attached to a truck rim.” Having had many years of experience with these weights, I knew immediately that the driver of that vehicle was going to have a hard time steering and controlling that truck, until he had the wheel “balanced”, with a new weight replacing this one.
The other thought I came into play with a question; “What if this driver had inspected his truck that morning as he always did, but the weight still fell off?” For believers, this means that your morning “inspection” may not carry you through your whole day. In truck driving there are 3 inspections to be done and performed every shift to make sure something hasn’t shifted or changed since the last inspection. In this case, the driver had the necessary items in place to declare his vessel “safe to drive”, however, during his travels, he “lost a weight” and went “out of balance”.
Today you need to ask yourself; “Has any weight or balance fallen off of me, causing hard steering and vibrations that weren’t present before?” Remember, balanced weights are necessary for a balanced life. Nobody wants to be a “wobbly” believer in the first place, but more importantly, Yahweh desires us to carry proper weights to walk correctly in His Kingdom.
