The Still Small Voice

The Rock of Central Florida   -

As Yahweh was passing by, a fierce wind tore mountains and shattered rocks ahead of Yahweh. But Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind came an earthquake. But Yahweh wasn’t in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire. But Yahweh wasn’t in the fire. And after the fire there was a quiet, whispering voice. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his coat, went out, and stood at the entrance of the cave.

Then the voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

1 Kings 19:11-13

Today I encourage you to be sensitive to the moment. In doing so, Yahweh will position you for your day. I found that on Sunday morning during worship, I was led to shift where I was to another area of the room. I did so and continued to worship. At some point, I looked around me and realized who I was surrounded by, and I perceived why Yahweh wanted me to move.

Sometimes when I think about positioning by the spirit, I visualize gaining authority in a career, displacing something, or being a demonstration to someone who doesn’t know Christ. All those things are true, but in my simple experience on Sunday morning, I wasn’t even positioning myself consciously. It wouldn’t have been noticeable to many, but when I looked around, I saw that Yahweh had positioned me in a place to connect with people that I really needed to. Had I ignored the “small voice,” I would have missed a personal encounter that meant a lot to me. No one saw a grand gesture, but my heart experienced something very special.

Yahweh is glorified when we let Him speak to where we stand, when we speak up, and when we move. Today, don’t second guess your spiritual instincts. Trust Yahweh’s shifts within that will position you to minister and to be ministered to. You will see that He knows just what this day needs, and that He remembers you, His beloved.
