Let Your Light Shine
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matt. 5:16
I was reflecting on The Rocks “Man on the Street” interviews from Resurrection Sunday and thought of the one connection that all of them had in common. None of the people who were asked the same basic question by the Rock Team were unfamiliar with church “things” or religion. They all answered according to their exposure to past church experiences and a family history of religious activities. All of them said that, …”In the past”, or, “When I was younger I used to do this or that.” There were lot’s of reasons why these folks were acquainted with Christ, but no one really wanted to KNOW Him.
Now let me ask you a question. What if that person was you? What if you felt like Christ was the Son of God, but didn’t really believe there was much power in that claim beyond when you were 6 or 7 years old? We, as believers need to be careful not to weaken the Christ anointing by lowering our expectations to the point of irrelevancy.
Today, we have the opportunity to shine our light among men and see The Kingdom ever increasing in our lives and in the earth. Someone was a light to all of the interviewees in the video, but what happened to make these folks turn away? Let’s be real and hear what they have to say and answer the questions they are asking, not the ones we THINK they should ask.
