In The Little
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Luke 16:10
We at The Rock of Central Florida just celebrated our anniversary of twenty-three years where we had the opportunity to honor our visionaries Steve and Kim Parker for their unwavering leadership and faithfulness. Today, The Rock of Central Florida is a vibrant church that has numerous ministries including a Christian Academy, an Early Learning Center, a Café, a Book Club, Youth group, Women’s ministry, Men’s ministry, etc. A new person would see this church today and would enjoy the many different elements The Rock has to offer without realizing its humble beginning. The Rock was not always a large organization with all the different ministries, but one that started with only a vision.
The vision turned into a meeting at a home, then a hotel conference room, then a storefront, a movie theater, and then the building it is in today. It took a courageous couple to be faithful over the little, to be trusted with much.
Yahweh God is a god of preparation and process. This process is not about becoming more popular or bigger but becoming more like Christ (Ephesians 5:1). As the Father gives us a little to oversee, He wants to develop faithfulness, obedience, courage, commitment, perseverance, etc. Then the fruit comes!!!! Then He will set you over much. Remember, the “much” is not to be measured by earthly standards, but in what He entrusts to you in the Spirit.
So, as you Start Your Day, remember to be faithful over the little things set before you. Do not look to your left, to your right, or compare yourself to others, but look to your Father and embrace where He has you today. Be faithful in the small task delegated to you at work, be faithful as a greeter at church, be faithful to serve others, be faithful to be kind, be faithful in the little things. Let this process transform you, and He will set you over much!!!
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’” Matthew 25:21
