Honor; Appropriate and Necessary
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Rom. 12:10
It is extremely important that we as believers understand the power of honoring those in authority over us, especially in the church. Honor isn’t something we strive for, nor should it be sought after as a “reward”, but it is earned by those who honor others well in their day to day walk in The Kingdom. During this time of Anniversary celebrations here at The Rock, we can look around us and see many who are worthy of our honor and respect, but none more worthy than our own Steve and Kim Parker. Everything that we have experienced and walked through this past 23 years of The Rock Church, has been boldly led by these two fabulous leaders. We are who we are, and as strong as ever because of the pioneering and mighty pursuit of the truth found in this couple.
It won’t take long to look back at the past year and reflect on who you are and what this House means to you. I ask that you consider the honor due your leadership as we move in a mighty way into year 24 and beyond. Be a blessing to others in this day, move as a demonstration of honor and respect to those whom you have come along side. Remember, honor comes from The Father and is reciprocated in His Sons. It moves in the earth fulfilling purpose throughout all generations from everlasting to everlasting.
